Award Win for Merchant Homes - Park Court "Ash" home named "Best Apartment" at Herald Property Awards

Dynamic housebuilder Merchant Homes is celebrating after picking up a coveted title at the Herald Property Awards 2009.  The developer’s three-bedroom Ash apartment at the Park Court development in Carmyle was named ‘Best Apartment’ in a tough category. Despite only breaking into the property market in 2007, Merchant Homes has fast established a reputation as an innovative builder with high quality, excellent design and affordability at its heart.

Judges at the prestigious awards ceremony felt that the Ash apartment provided excellent value for money, particularly to younger or first time buyers, and offered “generous proportions, an appealing layout and a convenient location just five minutes walk from the station”.  Linda McLuskie, Sales & Marketing Director for Merchant Homes, said: “We’re passionate about our product and the quality of workmanship in each home. All our properties offer spacious living areas and come as standard with all the extras that normally push up the price of a new-build home.” These include integrated SMEG kitchen appliances, Porcelenosa tiling, down lighters, double showers, and ready-to-go Sky+. Allocated parking spaces, en-suite facilities and secure entry systems also await buyers at Park Court.

Linda continued: “Everyone at Merchant Homes is delighted to have won the ‘Best Apartment’ award for our three-bedroom Ash home at Park Court.  “Merchant Homes is a new company and this award is testament to the hard work of our entire team over the last two years.  “The award goes to show that the innovative approach of a small company can make all the difference when it comes to creating outstanding homes. We are all so passionate about the properties we build and are over the moon that the Ash apartment has been recognised.” Merchant Homes offers a shared equity option on selected Park Court homes, with the developer covering a 25% mortgage deposit, leaving buyers with just 75% of the purchase price to secure from a lender. And with the 25% contribution not required to be paid back for a period of up to 10 years, or upon sale of the property, househunters could soon be living the dream. Prices at Park Court start at £132,000 for a two-bedroom Beech apartment, with the Ash priced at £155,000.
