New Housing Association Projects in the Pipeline for Merchant Homes

It’s just over two years since the formation of Merchant Homes, but the Glasgow-based property developer has already made an impact in the social housing sector in Scotland. In the last 12 months, the leading property company has worked on successful projects with several housing associations throughout the country including Thenew, Clyde Valley, Linthouse and Dumfries and Galloway Housing Partnership.  Alan Brander, Managing Director for Merchant Homes, believes the company’s strategic partnerships have played a key role in the growth of the business and has plans to develop its role within the social housing sector in the future.

Alan said: “Our relationships with RSL’s have helped create quality properties that meet the needs of local communities throughout Scotland. Not only are we building much needed homes for families but, in many cases, breathing new life into areas in need of regeneration.  “We have firm plans in place to strengthen these relationships moving forward with projects planned for Glasgow, North & South Lanarkshire and Dumfriesshire.  As the Scottish property market has evolved, so too has our business with the emphasis strongly on building affordable homes to the highest standards in the communities that need it most.  “Our commitment to potential residents extends beyond bricks and mortar and we play a major role in supporting the New Supply Shared Equity (NSSE) scheme. Helping people get on and move up the property ladder is a key focus. We look forward to announcing future developments and partnerships in the coming weeks and months.”
